National Grand Bank presented generous donation to the new Brown School. Mentioned that the National Grand Bank is a go to contact for MHD public schools through out the year.

Great start to the year. Thank you for the PTO sponsored tee shirts for staff and teachers; really brought the teachers together.
BROWN SCHOOL UPDATE

Excited to get into the new building in October. Thank you to the PTO help designing the new school’s frog logo. Thank you for the purchase of unifying shirts for the staff. The Brown community started out with a new schedule this fall – it really has been going well.

MONSTER MASH UPDATE

Brown community Halloween event on Oct 22nd. Pizza, cotton candy, petting zoo, arts, and crafts. Tickets will be on sale through membership toolkit. Save the Date invites going out to families this week.
MAGIC HAT UPDATE

Thrift Shop in the basement of the Vets middle school. A great place where you can donate – clothing, housewares, etc. They resell them and the funds to enrichment to the Marblehead PTO’s. Run all by volunteers.
OCT 6-11 Brown School Magic Hat shifts. Our school gets credit for that hour and they adjust the donations based on school times.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

- Enrichment Committee (Chaired by Erin Noonan & Bit Coppola) – Examples include the motivational speaker OOCH, Discovery Museum bridge building, and Joppa Flats hands on learning. The programs bring different experiences and enrichment to students during school hours.
- Teacher Appreciation Committee (Chaired by Madey Poss)
- Organic Garden committee (Chaired by Kristen Pratt)
- Holiday Shop – small gifts donated by families and they are wrapped and sold to kids for presents for the families
- Fun Run (Chaired by Karla Strobel) – Spring fundraiser and largest school spirit event of the year. Kids run around track with fun music to stay movin’ and earn money for their school.
