WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS
Board: Abby Lewis President, Karla Strobel Vice President, Jess Chamberlain and Molly Teets Co-Treasurers, Madey Poss and Kristen Pratt Co-Secretaries
- Welcomed 39 parent, board, administrator, and staff members in attendance
DISTRICT UPDATE
Superintendent John Buckey
- Masking will continue at least through November 1, until more guidance from the state is clear
- If staff are vaccinated, masking may become options
- Until more little ones are vaccinated, it is unlikely masking will end
BROWN SCHOOL UPDATE
Principal Sean Satterfield
- Thanks to town’s taxpayers, parents, and everyone for this beautiful new school
- PTO presented Sean with a school-branded jacket in thanks for all his efforts
- School is already a showcase and other towns have been to visit
- Working to improve and fine tune pick-up / drop off, particularly pick-up at end of day
- Some staff noted that it’s been their best two days of teaching, ever.
TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE UPDATE
Aimee Sheppard
- New school is tremendously uplifting
- Technology and smartboards and amazing and being well adopted
- Thanks to the building committee for the green shirts
ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE UPDATE
Erin Noonan
- Atlantic Great White Shark Conservancy enrichment slated for November among other exciting activities in plan.
TREASURER UPDATE
Molly Teets & Jess Chamberlin
- Top spend item is enrichment, and second is staff appreciation
- Our donation drive has been successful, and donations continue to come in.
SPIRIT WEAR VOTE
Karla Strobel
- Vote passed unanimously with 29 in favor of purchasing spirit wear to fuel school pride and secondarily as a PTO fundraiser.
- Sales will occur at MonsterMash through end of year.
HALLOWEEN EVENT- MONSTER MASH UPDATE
Kate Schmeckpeper
- Long standing Coffin School tradition
- Halloween themed carnival Oct 22 5-7 (rain date Oct 29)
- For school committee and not town wide residents
- Ticket sales cut off Mon, Oct 17
MAGIC HAT UPDATE

- $15,000 received from MagicHat – THANK YOU
- Donation hours are W/T/F 10-2
- Nov 10, 12, 13 are next volunteer days with help needed for Brown School – signup genius on Magic Hat website and Facebook page.
