Today, we announce that the Magic Hat Thrift Shop awarded more than $21,000 to the Lucretia and Joseph Brown School PTO. Thank you Magic Hat for your support! This October, the Magic Hat Thrift Shop donated more than $100,000 to ALL all Marblehead schools to fund enrichment programs throughout the district.
The $21,000 donation from Magic Hat Thrift Shop directly supports our educational enrichment programs tied to the curriculum, such as the Whale Mobile, Discovery Museums’ Traveling Science Workshops, Wingmasters Birds of Prey, and the on-site Brown Elementary Garden Program. Magic Hat raises these funds through the collection and resale of household items and clothing from the Marblehead community.
Since opening in 2006, the thrift shop has donated more than $1.5 million to Marblehead schools.
Magic Hat is one of our largest fundraising sources for our Brown School PTO enrichment programs! Helping at Magic Hat is a great way to volunteer for our school one hour at a time!
Help Earn the Next 21,000 Dollars for Your School!
The Magic Hat delivers checks (it calls them “allocations”) to schools twice a year – in October and April. But to award the allocations, The Magic Hat Thrift Shop relies on parent volunteers to receive and sort through donated items and organize the shop displays. Parents, Grandparents, and friends are all welcome to sign up to help! The more hours we volunteer, the more funds the shop donates to our PTO! Please ensure you sign in under Brown School PTO to gain credit for your time.
Please stop by the Magic Hat anytime to volunteer or join us during our Brown School Magic Hat weeks!
