Despite the cold and snow, the Lucretia and Joseph Brown Elementary School Garden Program is growing thanks to critical community support! Marblehead ACE Hardware owners Fred Ferris and Karl Smith provided a generous in-kind discount and hand-delivered a slew of tools and garden wares this week.
The Garden Program at the Brown Elementary School is a curriculum enrichment program that gives all school students the opportunity to take advantage of experiential learning sessions focused on nature, science, sustainability, and mindfulness.
The new and extensive garden and curriculum supplies will support the garden enrichment program sponsored and organized by the Brown PTO this spring.
Garden teacher Holly Hannaway will lead kindergarten through third grade students in hands-on learning activities to explore the lifecycle of seeds and plants, ‘worm hotels’ as part of an ecosystem, signs of spring, and more.

We always need volunteers! Gardening or nature right up your alley? Parent volunteers interested in helping with garden enrichment coordination and planning please contact brownschoolptomhd@gmail.com for more information.
